The food is always fresh and hot. The staff will give you plenty for your money. It's reasonable prices and I the fact that I can find spices there in larger quantities than the supermarket.

Amazing customer service!! Outrageously, delicious food!! They treat me like family!! Today, I tried stew peas with pork tails. (Chef’s special) It was the very best I had ever put my lips on. Wonderful food and.service

I bought some curry powder and 2 beef patties which were hard 🤔😳! Didn't find out till i got home. I was about 8pm and im guessing thuy were not going to cook anymore since they will be closing soon. If this is the case, sell them half price or let customers know they been there awhile.

My wife and I got food there for the first time tonight. It was delicious! My wife got curry chicken and she couldn't stop commenting how good it was. I got jerk chicken with rice and beans with extra jerk gravy. Wow! The best food we've gotten in Portsmouth in a while. We'll be back.

This place sells alot of items from back home. But I have to admit I was totally shocked at the food. It was very tasteless. It looked very authentic yet it was so bland. I was up here visiting and my daughter suggested this spot. I have been here before for my daughters birthday and we went to Rhythm Cafe in Virginia Bch. The food was awesome

Friendly and good customer service. My youngest daughter liked it because her husband is from Guyana (goat curry). It’s tucked away behind the BT&T bank off Portsmouth Blvd. Worth the try.

I support because my heritage is Jamaican. Prices are reasonable on the perishables you can't find at the grocery store. The hot food is good if you want a taste of Jamaican culture, it's just not as seasoned as we make it (appeals to a wider audience). Customer service is typically good and the building smells amazing.

Best island food I ever ate. Only because it was the first time I ever had curry chicken. Still the food was gorgeous and very tasty. I'm going back.

Food delicious me and mi wife love it there everyone family nuf respect to everyone there Richard and mama make sure your meal right and tasteful. So Mi give it a 4 star reason why because we missed the buffet bring it back ! Lol other than that I recommend this place if your looking for a taste of the Caribbean food at its best look no farther MP Island is the place to be!

First time here, when I pulled up, looking from the outside i was not sure if it was open or not but i ended up walking in through the grocery store entrance which turns out is the ONLY way you can get in. I was immediately I was greeted at the door by the wonderful smell of spices, chicken, and beef. Great Food Great Service. I got a large plate of Ox Tail and rice and beans. I grew up in Miami FL, and have had my fair share of Authentic Caribbean food, All I can say is that this place is legit. All of the food looked and smelled amazing. I will be going back... SOON.

I got the jerk chicken, rice and peas and collards and my stomach was in knots before I left. The chicken was dry and the sauce was watery and spicy with no flavor. My stomach was churning all night. Thanks MP's for a horrible meal

I called to place my order over the phone and she told me to come in and place my order. Now mind you I asked her what time they close she had me on hold never answered my question so I came to the store just so she can tell me there closed I drove from Suffolk. Very unprofessional

I ordered from here and they are no cutlass grille. I ordered the curry goat and rice and peas with gravy. The gravy was old looking and the rice was dry. The meat was dry and not juicy at all. The green beans look like they came straight out of a can, not fresh. I normally go to cutlass grille where it is truly authentic and fresh but I decided to give this place a shot. Not again!

My son and I love this place. The jerk chicken and Ox tail is to die for.
